WriteClick is a detailed data base of travel writers and photographers in Australia and overseas.

Its aim is to provide tourism operators, organisations and public relations professionals working in the tourism/travel industry with more specific details of the needs and interests of individual travel writers and photographers, in order to plan famils and functions and pitch story and photographic ideas.

At the same time, it is designed to promote travel writers and photographers who can list their specific needs and interests and therefore attract the kinds of famils and functions in which they wish to participate and story and photographic ideas they wish to pursue.

WriteClick was formed in 2005 by award-winning Australian travel writer Christine Retschlag. Christine has been a journalist for 18 years in Australia, Hong Kong and London. For the past seven years she has been focusing specifically on travel/tourism, for two years as Tourism Reporter for Queensland’s Courier-Mail; followed by three years in the Destination Media Unit at Tourism Queensland; and for the past two years as a full-time freelance travel writer.

In 2006, Christine won the award for Australian Travel Writer of the Year Trade/Industry; and also won the Jack Butters Memorial Award for Excellence in Travel Journalism, at the most prestigious travel writing awards in the Southern Hemisphere. She was also a finalist in the category for Australian Travel Writer of the Year Responsible (Eco) Tourism.

In 2007, Christine won The Australian Society of Travel Writers Award for Best Australian Story over 1000 words.

It is this rounded experience, as an on-staff tourism reporter, destination marketing journalist, and as a freelance travel writer, which she brings to serve the aims of both in-house and freelance writers and photographers as well as organisations involved in tourism promotion.
